Making up Facts

The Popular Bookstore Book Fair from 11/3 till 20/3/2011 at Wangsa Walk.

I’m a sucker for cheapass books that are worth my money. So damn you for making spend money and ogling my new books that were damn nice. One was for only RM30($10) and the other was RM10($3).

On to the books. They were amazing. The big book you see there under here, is damn nice to read as its a history book in chronological order that actually doesn’t make people go into an induced coma. Its easy to read and the pictures are amazing like damn saliva drooling kind of amazing. The type that makes us want to make coffee just to watch for hours on ends. The contents were surprisingly simple to understand and the facts were the less common stuff that the general space geek wouldn’t easily know without deeply researching about.

The second book is a book titled ‘Little Book Of Everything’. What do you expect from a name like that? A sewing tutorial? Its a fact book that I as a person would be expected to know during my pathetic life. To be specific, a general knowledge book. From the human body to damn formulae of a sphere. Its there. One chapter is damn about ‘The Universe’ damn it. What do you expect? The answer to everything? That needs you to refer to a damn hermit on top of a damn mountain. Or you could google it. Try typing ‘the answer to life the universe and everything’ into google. You get this;

the answer to life the universe and everything = 42

Back to the books…

Well here they are,

The BOOKS damn it

IMG_0412

It’s about space, what else from a book titled ‘Space’

IMG_0414

Some big pictures and some big fonts…

IMG_0416

The book is a damn picture book for damn space geeks damn it… like me?

IMG_0411

Well, its a fact book about…everything? First thing I thought up was indeed in there… hehehe…

IMG_0407

Look at those suckers frustrated on searching the damn books they could have if they had money…

Fusion Laptop on my lap

image + image_1

=  image_2

Okay, I have a confession. I have bought a laptop. Again. Yes after 3 years of killing my future children by burning hot exhaust, my HP Compaq AMD Turion TL-50 laptop has retired from service.
First, I didn't actually bought what I intentionally went out to buy, the HP Pavilion dm1z. And there are reasons why.

  1. HP is intent on trolling on my god given patience limiter by not releasing it yet in Malaysia.
  2. I friggin hate using an iPod more than a few days for a PC replacement.
  3. I hate apple for making me pay more.
  4. Other makers like Acer and Sony could release it in Malaysia a month before you scumbags.
  5. I have capital(some).
  6. Why bother waiting when you could probably happier buying.
  7. I desperately have to have a laptop before I go back home(that's now).

So what damnation did I buy?

This

IMG_0392IMG_0393IMG_0394IMG_0386IMG_0387IMG_0389IMG_0391

The Sony VAIO VPCYB15AG.

So, shut the fags, lock your asses and listen up.

The laptop runs on AMD Fusion’s architecture. Same as the laptop I was gonna buy from HP but got tired of waiting for their slow asses.

It has the AMD E-350 dual-core that has an Radeon 6310 built in the processor. That’s why its called an APU(Accelerated Processing Unit). It has a CPU and a GPU on one single piece of silicon.

The verdict?

Pro’s

  1. It looks good
  2. The battery is longer lasting
  3. The screen is gorgeous
  4. It’s cool(temperature related you ass)
  5. My future children are probably not gonna have heat strokes
  6. My desktop keyboard looks like this keyboard, so I can relate
  7. The speakers are actually loud for this damn small laptop

Con’s

  1. The power LED is killing my photo sensors in my eyes. I could use it to illuminate a whole wall at night
  2. The battery is slightly less longer lasting than other Fusion models
  3. It has Windows 7 Starter
  4. The build quality could be better(but still way better than an Acer notebooks that I have seen and touched. Most disintegrate after buying)
  5. Its bloody expensive for what you get(damn you Sony)

And I’m in my mid semester break. So I couldn’t care less…

work, assignments and exams

Well, I don't have much time on writing as I spend most of my spare time on catching up on my sleep. Yea, there was that weekend that I went ice skating, but that was to release some pent up stress. So 20 days of no posts will be awarded by constant writing after I have finished my midsem exams this whole week. I have done some crazy projects within these 20 days, like building a 6dBi wifi antenna, rebuilt my car's radio and some things about a certain fusion APU. I'll post after my midsem break and lastly I'll have to post stuff about my Final Year Project. Like the research on the ultrasonic sensor that I have bought. So, see ya after the midterms.

Mad Human Mad Machine

demotivational_poster_3
See the picture?
It reminds me the sarcasm that lies behind all the thing I do in this day and age.
But when trying to do a big ass project like a robotic killing sentinel from hell you’d thing I’d start big. I’d rather not, as we all live a land called Malaysia and last time I checked it isn’t in one of a fantasy land that some people really like to think of.
Property Defence System
So, I started out with starting to learn how to make the Arduino UNO(http://arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoBoardUno) work simple tasks like just making an LED blink.
IMG_0316[1]
Its a MIRICLE OF ENGINEERING
While it’s not, most of electronics students have never ever really seen a programmable IC more less using it.
And then I learned how to make several more LED’s blink separately.
IMG_0319[1]
And then I thought of using my new uber cool LED that I had bought for something unrelated.
IMG_0324[1]
For now, the LED’s are blinking and do nothing else but blink. I should really put a video, but it seemed too stupid to see some LED’s blink or marvel at some shiny metal.
I did test the code for some servo movement. As the sweeping movement code isn’t working with the Arduino, somehow the code for the control of servos with a potentiometer is working. And this particularly pleases me. As I thought there might be some problem with the Italian made Arduino UNO. As the first picture stated, the simplest might probably be completely wrong. That is what I am very worried about.
I’ll post the pictures about the servo testing later if I have time or if I get some Redbull and some Gatorade mixed to get some GetaBull. That’ll make my eyes grow some hair and make me think about more intricate engineering'.
Other daily related stuff
Fusion-logo-Flat
See that big logo up there?
No, it isn’t about making a nuclear fusion and making a hydrogen bomb. It’s AMD Fusion. The makers of the wildly six core quad crossfire solutions for the gaming head decided to make a laptop that could be used where most laptops can’t these days, on your lap. Their notebooks offerings before this were fast and suitable for the portable gamer but could be used also to reheat your entire house during a snowstorm. And don’t think I’m making a joke here. I’m living in the tropics. I know what a heat problem is where there is one.
To the matter of fact, I had a AMD notebook made by HP Compaq. It died once. I suspected because it was the heat it produced and it damaged the motherboard and did horrible things to annoy me. But then, it was within its one year warranty and all was nice until last semester break. It didn’t start. I knew the dejavu feeling when it started to make some hardware problems like having problems in booting. Now? Its a dead notebook gathering dust in my room.
As I had a desktop capable of making children cry and kick the living eyes out of some unrelenting pathetic unpatriotic laptop user saying his laptop can play some old boring stupid racing game, I had to travel. And portability seemed a bit friendly concept this time. So I decided that an 11.6 incher screen coupled with fantastic battery performance and capable of playing my HD content stored on my external drive would be perfect.
Then some moronic first time computer user who has 3 month experience with a DSLR said to me, buy a netbook. All I did was laugh. And laugh I did. As netbooks were amazingly cheap and portable, it would be crying to its mother when I would play HD Youtube videos or play some full HD h.264 encoded video. Yet alone trying to run some game. Morons.
So what am I planning to buy?
Why else did I put the big fusion logo up there? I’d be buying an AMD Fusion of course. As Engadget’s article on the so call ‘Notbook’ explains, its the future.
And I’ve got my eyes on the HP Pavilion dmz1 and this baby will be on my watch list of priorities.
And I’m not gonna listen to someone who has a horrible laptop say that thing is ugly or anything. As this laptop would eat that thing like that thing was made of jelly.

These hands and the POLICE

For stupid reasons, I am talking about hands and that shows how my brain is probably is right now.

IMG_0167

Shit things first. You know that my car was broken into last Wednesday. Yes it was for the people who probably wont scroll down and read the hilarity behind the whole kerfuffle. The total damage report that I have lost nearly RM500 in the whole shit whole of a situation.

RM300 RADIO + RM30 Some stuff + RM150 For a new window + RMsomething for my thumbdrive = RM500

The car window shop did a good job tidying up the broken glasses in the interior of the car. Until the fact that I went home and found some other shards of glass still resounding in the door and under some parts of the car. A grim reminder of what happened on that fateful Wednesday afternoon. That cost me RM BLOODY 500.

This all leads to the matter of the hands, that tried to clean the  broken glasses and got hurt. A bit. It hurt my heart more seeing my car like that. But then, why bother. I’ll be heading out to get it vacuumed.

Oh, did I mention about the police? HAHAHAHA

That was my first time in a Police Station. You know what? That was probably the most cheerful police station in the friggin world. Everyone was making jokes and laughing all the time including me. We all the time hear about police brutality and the constant blaming of the police force for some cases. But you see, I didn’t get pummelled to death did I? They even gave a little encouragement to me. Making a report seemed daunting at first, but it wasn’t at all a hassle but it did take a bit of time to finish it. Like the officer said ‘Macam buat karangan’(like making an essay). It was as simple as that. You know what, if you didn’t do anything bad, like most of you have probably you wont have to be so damn afraid of the police that much. Unless you are an illegal immigrant or a ‘mat rempit’, or a serial rapist, then you would probably be pissing your pants every time you see a police officer.

That brings me to this part. Wonder why some people who in record has never have spoken, called or communicate with the police hate the Police Force that much? Wonder why? In logical forms, we would logically thing they have fears or trauma with the police. But no, that is never the case. It would be logically and rationally be thought that they have done something wrong that probably broke the law. Meaning, only when only criminals fear the police, probably people who hate the police, people who fears the police and people who runs from the police are automatically criminals in potential or criminals already. These theories are always coming out from my brain these days.

Facts cannot be overthrown by mere fantasy. Unless you take ecstasy pills, you would probably like fantasy more, that’s the only reasons why. Why? Creativity and fantasy is what designs a building, but logic is all what holds it up. So, if you don’t have logical thinking running in your head at all, you’d probably be dead eating a shiny metal thinking it was food in your fantasy ridden world. That’s why my theories are nearly always correct. HAHAHAHA…

Happy Horrible Birthday Hafizan

The 18th of January 2011 was my 22nd birthday.

4 days before that, I bought a JVC radio for my car intended as my own personal birthday happy damn present for my damn self. It had an USB input so I could put my thumbdrive and cheer the happy music I had put in it.

But on the 19th, the day after my happy happy day this happened.

IMG_0308[1]

The window was broken into(see the empty window frame mysteriously without an intact glass?),

IMG_0307[1]

the new radio I bought and THE FRIGGIN CLOCK is now missing from the centre console(see the mysterious hole without a radio an a clock?).

HAPPY HORRIBLE BIRTHDAY HAFIZAN,

happy horrible birthday…

This is what you get for wanting to be happy for a day. For the people who hate me, this day would be marked in their lives as a nice day to go out and celebrate my ‘afflicted, bad break, behind eight ball, black, calamitous, cataclysmic, catastrophic, cursed, dire, disastrous, down on luck, hapless, hard luck, ill-fated, ill-starred, inauspicious, luckless, miserable, ominous, out of luck, star-crossed, tough luck, tragic, unfavourable, unhappy, unsuccessful, untimely, untoward’ day that I do not want to remember.

I know that some people, people who are close and dear to me, in their hearts are happy that this happened to me. Why? Because they are ungrateful communists that’s why. They smiled when they heard this happened. How do I know? I have eyes. Two of them. One in my right and the other in my left eye socket. Dude, you should really lie with your face more. It shouldn’t have been that obvious when you smirked.

I’m not gonna go into the who did this and who I suspect. Because I’m smiling right now. No, I’m not going senile or going bonkers with a machine gun in a mall. I’m not that stupid. Because I know who to blame for this incident in the first place. Who? The administration of UniKL-BMI. Hey don’t mistake me with people who hate their universities. I adore my campus. I just hate the people who make it a horrible place to study. I hate the people who made me park my car at a place very visible from the guard house and didn’t even know my car was violated until the police had arrived. I blame the people who couldn’t care less when I said to them I wanted to park inside. I blame the stupid people who made us car drivers park outside the campus. I blame you, the management of UniKL-BMI. You made this happy person a pissed person. Thank you. I hope you all go to heaven faster than all of us. I hope you enter heaven knowing that I hate you for making me a sad student who had his birthday present that he bought for himself stolen because of the policy that you yourself made. Thank you. Thank you very much.

As most of you don’t even care or don’t even know how to read English properly even when you work or study at an institute called British Malaysian Institute, I would like to tell you that this post isn’t intended to or for anything. Its my solace towards my car that has never been ungrateful to me unlike some horrible people I personally know and see everyday. A car that only have given me smiles and only asked me fuel in return. It is my way of getting comfort and I know it could have been worse. Unless you people want me to go kill some thieves, I would rather do something that would make their lives a more a living hell.

Happy Horrible Birthday Hafizan. Happy Horrible Birthday.

21 to 22 and Final Year Project and the secrets of life

hoshi

Today, is the 16th of January. Why is that in any importance is beyond my comprehension and ability to really care. This is probably because I'm turning 22 within these few days and the knowledge of that is beginning take its toll on my perpetual critical thing called my friggin mind. Well, I could ignore it and still believe that I am still the youthful idiot that I was before. But the one thing humans couldn't escape from in any way is reality. Because we live in reality and maybe some would like to think they live in a world called 'fantasy' but they are dead. Tough luck. Its the same old thing when you grow. Meaning you get older and the longer you wait isn't gonna make it better. It gets worse with time.

Double 2's ain't gonna make it subtle is it? My friend(yes, I have real friends), said that “hey look, I'm taking it just nicely. Why wont you?”. I simply thought in my head, “FFFFFFFFFFF” simply because I couldn't care more. Having an early life crisis is what the 20's mean for the young man that I am. Okay...enough with the age thing already. I’m gonna lock myself in retaliation of the bozo's who are targeting to get their revenge because I have been too nice to them when celebrating their past birthdays. Or I'll live in my car for 3 days, only getting out for class and the natural bodily needs.

And yeah, I bought the Kembara a new radio. A JVC something radio. It has USB inputs and I probably could live properly after this. Before the new radio, the volume control would suddenly put the volume to ZERO OR MAX every time the car hits a FRIGGIN bump or every time I CLOSED THE FRIGGIN DOOR. Also the USB FM car transmitter also gone kaput last week. So I didn’t have my fix of my head banging music every time I  drive to class. So that was why I managed to save a quarter of a tank this week. It was the LITE.FM listening each time I drive. Damn…

FINAL YEAR PROJECT

fyp-1

At last, my Property Defence System was accepted to be my Final Year Project. Now the project will go full speed ahead and probably be modified countless times then after that be a killing machine programmed to sniff out idiots and throw them with manure and laugh in resemblance of Fidel Castro holding a cigar on one hand and an AK-47 on the other. Being serious, I will make the full thing next semester. So there will be no casualties this semester. Except, if I died trying to code the secrets of life in the thing. To stupid people, they will be seeing that I am building a killing machine that is bent on killing their unborn children. To the crazy people, I am building a badass machine that is bent on world domination. To the simple minded, they wouldn't understand anything you say to them. To the serious people, VIVA LA LOCA DELAHOYA!!!! culo de mierda loco parece empeñado en algo rentable. Por qué!!!!

The under laying foundations for the project has already been planned and some has already been bought. Like the microcontroller, the servo motor and the screaming mice. Don't worry, no kittens were harmed during the writing of this blog post, I only harm humans. Now what I need is learning how to code properly. No point on having a kickass super car if you don't have petrol to use. Needs more coding hell in the future.

Water-cooled Peltier based Fridge

IMG_0303[1]

I have news. Bad news and good news. Bad news first, the watercooling component is great at warming the globe and the reservoir is leaking like a colander and the coolant needs to be replenished everyday which is stupid. Its like buying petrol when you have a solar powered car. That is just stupid full stop. The thing I could think to improve the design is to use a real car radiator and cry believing it will work. For god's sake, I'm using 3 fans to cool the reservoir/radiator down so the water wouldn't boil and create a sauna in my room. Great if you wanna have a sauna, bad if you wanna cool down an 80W peltier unit that needs to operate below the temperature of 65 degrees Celsius. The good news? The temperature inside is 11-12 degrees Celsius. I’d hope the temps were lower, but we all can hope and despair when it doesn’t work as intended.

As in the picture, you could see a wreck of a marriage between a horrible car accident and an engineering student’s mind trying to cope with mental instability.

  1. the reservoir/radiator sucks
  2. it has minor leaks
  3. its loud
  4. my mind is stretched thinking the workaround needed for this to even work
  5. need more working to get more efficiency
  6. I wanted a freezer class fridge, not a ‘pseudostupid not cold enough’
  7. sigh…

Adieu…
