Day 11 outstation Penang. My clothes smell like puke, my feet smells like, well, feet and my head filled with filthy words with no end. Yup, I am still not home. Well, the thing is I will travel back to KL tonight. So I still have to work today. So one last push my frail body. One last hurrah. 23 more days till all this ends and I have a month of nothingness then I will have my well deserved 10 day backpacking holiday in . But before that, I need to sort out my visa application. So I will thrust on forwards and do it my way. Now, to get my fighting spirit up to par I’ll listen to my official song of my life which is ‘Frank Sinatra – My Way’.

Day 10 outstation Penang, I am wet. My exterior is wet. My feet are dry. My jacket is wet. On the last site, I had to climb up a structure which was about 6-7 metres tall to calibrate a friggin scary tipping bucket(a rain gauge). When I successfully scaled the thing, the scenery was nice but it turned into misery when suddenly the land was blessed with a great downpour of rain. All while I was standing on a hand rail 7 metres above ground. While it took seconds to get down, that was all it took to make me drenched with the blessings from the sky. And that wasn’t the most annoying thing. The rain stopped just about 1-2 minutes after I reached shelter. All in a days work. I just want to sleep, and go home. Wait, go home then sleep. Priorities.

Day 10 outstation Penang. Still in Perlis. The weather is great for doing work but that means that it’s hot and I am sweating. It’s great that I am wearing deodorant and the proper work attire to not make me want to murder and eat fish. Today I have 5 sites to go to and it’s noon and we completed only 2 due to technological nature of any product which have an expiry date of 5 days. Everything can fail. The only question is when. Somehow it always fail when I am around to do check for problems. If all goes well, I can proceed home today but we all know that is not going to happen. The worst case scenario is I’m going home on Friday. Screw this. SCREW THIS SCREW!!!

Day 9 outstation Penang. In Perlis. Slept well in a hotel. Had a hot shower and there was air conditioning and they had a great WiFi internet access. I haven’t. felt this refreshed in weeks. Now my mood is restored to 80% of it’s original state I can go to work my ass out. Unfortunately the moment we arrived, at the destination, mother nature took it’s course of deciding when I can get wet and muddy. So we’re searching the next site which isn’t pouring buckets loads of water. A blessing for the land, misery for me.

Day 8 outstation Penang. Actually I went to Taiping, Perak and did some maintenance work. Ok, I have a toothache, then when I woke up my neck hurts probably because of the bad sleeping conditions making me unable to tilt my head upwards for the whole day. Every movement was hell. Then in the evening the pain was also including a new kind. The migraine type. So, Pain Gauge meter of misery is at its limits of unknown territory for my body tolerance due to over exposure to stupidity. But hey, I experienced being a monkey climbing stuff today. So today I looked like a person with a neck injury while eating mash potato like a crippled person while holding my head and at the same time looking fatigued. I probably looked like a crazy person. Good. At least there was some good things/news. First I went past my Penang house. Didn’t stop. At least I saw one home. That’s probably a bad news. Argh… Hey now I know that I will at last be going home after I finish this Perlis job or this Friday. Now that’s good great amazing news. Quick, before I loose my sanity.

Day 7 outstation Penang. It’s raining hell. I’m wet, I’m cold and I have a toothache. Yes, it is raining. More bad news for me. I might not be coming home on Tuesday. I might be coming home after I kill and burn everybody. Then I go home. This is becoming the terrible nightmare that I had hope not to encounter in my lifetime. Might I say, I need painkillers right now and I have none in hand. Max, the journey up your asskilling didn’t help me at all. Today was nothing special, new people to work with, new people to talk with, new annoyances to encounter. Well, 27 days left in this hell hole. And I might be coming back to KL in a week. Screw me.

Day 6 outstation Penang. Riding a rally course on a Triton. What happened to day 5? Went back to the office at 10pm. Why? We blew something at the site and decided that best thing to do was to go back to the office and ‘discuss’. Today is a Sunday. I worked. The effing end. Well, it was more enjoyable than the days before this. At least we completed 1 site. Great…

Day 4 outstation Penang. Going around Kedah troubleshooting loggers. And bad news for me. I might be staying here until every damn site is done. I packed for 5 days damnit. I’m screwed like hell and tomorrow is a Saturday. Someone kill these incompetent assholes. I just want some damn civilised shower and clean clothes to wear.

Day 3 outstation Penang. Cows. A lot of em. While installing the ultrasonic sensor, while praying, while going anywhere. The dung, while smells like dung still smells better than my feet. I got used to the smell I can’t even differentiate the dung and my feet. Sniff sniff. Time for a sock change my dear feet.

Day 1 outstation in Penang. Went to the island and back. Then back to another site. A large ass irrigation pump that pumps the crud that the population throws in the water that will end up in the river. The smell? Like my feet.

When you finished your work before your friend does, it is time to sit back and relax in the Hilux.

The thing with site work is that it isn’t you who decides the weather. Mother nature does.
